Few Statistical fact

Globally, 2.2 billion people experience vision impairment, with nearly half of these cases, preventable or unaddressed. In India, where nearly 15 million people are visually impaired, there remains a critical need for effective training and rehabilitation. In order to address these needs the National Federation of the Blind, Maharashtra was established in the year 1977.

About National Federation of the Blind, Maharashtra (NFBM)

NFBM is a premier self-help organization of the blind and successfully run by the blind dedicated to improving the quality of live of the visually impaired community. With a representation of approximately 7 to 8 lakhs visually challenged citizens, we operate from our headquarters in Mumbai. Our mission is to ensure equal opportunities in education, training, employment and self-employment for those we serve. As a step in this direction we run several projects across the state of Maharashtra for instance Vocational Rehabilitation and Training centre Nasik, Industrial Vocational Rehabilitation and training centre Aurangabad and Sparsh a production and training centre at Badlapur, Mumbai
