NFBM Skill Development Centre- (NFBM -SDC)

With an objective of exploring diverse career opportunities for our visually impaired aspirant the NFBM SDC was established on 1st April 2020. The moto of NFBM SDC is to play by the strength of its beneficiaries and offer courses which are designed with a focus on the special talent exhibited by every student enrolled with this project. Currently there are 40 girls enrolled in the NFBM SDC ,who are pursuing college education along with learning additional skills under this project.
Our Skill Development Centre located in the premises of NFBM Career Oriented Educational campus for the Blind offers a range of innovative and well-designed courses in order to enhance the employment potential of our specially abled beneficiaries for instance training in “Information Technology& Web Accessibility Testing, German & English language training, Courses in voice modulation, recruitment consultancy & radio jockey training. This centre also focuses on preparing its students for facing competitive exams like MPSC, UPSC & banking service.
Achievements- ever since inception our students have made us proud by securing 100% results in the HSC board examination. The NFBM SDC has so far placed 15 visually impaired girls in the private sector in various roles like Communication officers, Tele callers, Data Entry Operators and Recruitment Consultants.

What We Do?

We bridge the gap between academics and employability, focusing on real-world skills, personality development, and professional confidence. Our programs are tailored to each student’s aspirations—whether that’s becoming a teacher, a radio jockey, a public speaker, or a government officer.

Our Courses

  • Computer & Digital Literacy

Hands-on training in accessible software, screen readers (JAWS, NVDA), MS Office, email, and internet navigation.

  • Voice Modulation & Public Speaking

Special modules in voice training, pronunciation, and speech delivery, ideal for students pursuing Radio Jockeying, teaching, or customer service careers.

  • Communication Skills Training
    Public speaking, interview preparation, English language enhancement, and confidence-building exercises. Focused sessions on verbal expression, clarity, articulation, and effective listening, helping students build strong interpersonal and workplace communication skills.
  • Soft Skills & Personality Development

Confidence-building, interview techniques, grooming, team collaboration, and etiquette to shine in any workplace.

  • Career Counseling & Service Exam Preparation

Focused guidance and coaching for competitive and civil service exams, helping students aim for stable, meaningful careers in the public sector.

  • Radio Jockeying & Audio-Based Careers

Creative workshops in RJ training, storytelling, podcasting, and voice-based platforms for students with expressive flair.

  • Resume Writing & Job Readiness

Sessions on writing impressive CVs, handling interviews, office behavior, and digital communication.

Language Learning Center

Foreign Language Learning Center

At the NFBM Skill Development Center, the Foreign Language Learning Center enables blind and visually impaired students to build strong communication skills in German, Spanish, and English—languages that unlock international opportunities in education, employment, and social integration.

Our accessible and inclusive language programs are designed to help students confidently connect with the world beyond borders.

We Offer German, Spanish, English. Each language program is tailored to the needs of visually impaired learners, using adaptive tools and inclusive teaching techniques that promote fluency, comprehension, and real-world usage.

 Key Features

  • Certified and Experienced Trainers – Instructors are skilled in both language teaching and special education practices.
  • Accessible Learning Resources – Lessons are available in Braille, audio formats, large print, and supported by screen readers and tactile learning tools.
  • Skill-Based Curriculum – Focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing, along with grammar, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.

 Why Learn Foreign Languages?

Service Exam Preparation Claases

At the NFBM Skill Development Center, the Service Examination Preparation Classes are designed to equip visually impaired students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in competitive government and public sector exams.

These classes cover key subjects such as General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning, using accessible formats like Braille, audio lessons, and screen reader-compatible digital content.

Expert faculty members provide structured coaching, mock tests, and one-on-one mentoring tailored to each student’s pace and learning style. The program aims to open pathways to secure, respectable careers in the public sector, enabling students to become self-reliant and active contributors to society.

Workshops and Summer Camps
